EUPD (Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder)

EUPD – Badly named and misunderstood.

EUPD isn’t a disorder which means you are dangerous (not in my case or experience anyway). It means you can maybe make bad desicions (well more like definitely), emotionally based ones again, definitely.

With EUPD you swing from one mood to the next, problems controlling the change when something happens, then having to wait to make a decision allowing fear, anger, excitement to subside before you choose.

You also feel them more deeply than others, the pang of words people say to you. The pain, the happiness, helplessnes.
For example when someone says they love you, they keep telling you that, then betray you, or they tell you “I will never get with you” out of the blue, it can kill.
You’ll find that these are the people that live in solitude, because “normal” people don’t realise (or care) the spitefullness, or how painful something may come across even if what was said is innocent they won’t notice or probably care the effect it has on that person.

When a disorder like EUPD is mixed with Anxiety or Depression (EUPD possibly being the cause of either), you have the perfect storm. An immensely difficult combination to navigate life with (mix that with being able to talk to dead people that can be disastorous and far more difficult to deal with).

Relationships are a minefield, can you imagine being so in love with someone that you don’t see any negative signs when they are flashing in pink neon? but, I hear you say, “but, you said quick to change”, yes thats true but also so entrenched in that feeling that you cannot move from it.
I did say difficult didn’t I?

Try losing someone (and I mean by a death or by manipulation).
Anyone without EUPD the transition in dealing with the loss a standard time frame, add EUPD you have a quagmire to wade through. Not months, years maybe decades, maybe for ever.

It’s not something you see on them either. There are no tells, no micro expressions, maybe if you catch them biting their tongues.

So how do you deal with it if you do not have it? Easy, be kind, be patient, don’t try to understand, (unless your driving a ferarri you won’t (and lets be honest if you’re driving a Ferarri, you probably don’t care about anything apart from yourself), but, Ferarris go from 0-60 in seconds)).
