This is the case of an aggrieved customer. There are many, as things don’t always go the way people want them too.
However, some are just blatantly abusive and twist the truth to their ends, this story is about a family named Tatham, here in Bentham (yes that Tatham). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Being an off lander, (someone who wasn’t born in the area) I take people at face value. More the fool me some of the time.
99% of people here are really nice, but there are some that are damn right nasty. One small group exists here in a small village.
Nasty, self opinionated and delusional , narcissistic, obtuse and small minded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now I run two small charitable businesses. Enable Disability and A White Knight IT (the latter a Community Interest Company). Both of which means I am heavily regulated. If i were to overstep the mark, rip people off (apart from it being against my nature) I will lose both companies, which is why I tow the line and follow the rules that are laid out in front of me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My background is IT, I’m a trouble shooter (for want of a better word) i adhere to quality and rules of the ITT for things like system and web design. I’ve always thought “out side the box” been able to see a bigger picture and how to resolve whatever issue I am faced with, Not only this I have made logical changes to the way PCs are configured to give the customer the best amount of life they can get for their machines. I did this long before OEM companies came up with similar designs.
I’ve worked with Bluechip Companies (Motorola, Nokia, New College Swindon, English Heritage, Oak Furniture Land and briefly with Angus Fire).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’ve also worked for myself on multiple occasions. CAW Technology Solutions which ran self hosted websites for 36 customers (not many you say, but for a small self hosting business in the early noughties that’s a lot) , I then purchased a failing Cartridge World Franchise, whose turnover fell from \u00a3250,000 a year to \u00a390,000 a year in six years. I rebranded to “Th-inksmart & Recycle Ltd” after buying all the assets of Cartridge World Swindon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Within the first year I’d hired five extra staff (from the two that the previous company had) and improved the turnover to \u00a3120,000, then \u00a3140,000 and \u00a3160,000 respectively and got rid of the manager who was selling heroin from the store..
I’ve worked in most areas of IT with these ‘Blue Chip’ Companies, enjoyed a few, but none have ever come close to the enjoyment of working for oneself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In business you get angry customers, customers that are frustrated – we get it, this is something that we don’t have to put up with as “customer service people” but , we understand frustration.
What we don’t deserve is abusive behaviour and threats and failures from the police to act on these behaviours.
In February (2022) I had to call the police to remove an abusive customer from the store (our Community Interest Company).
Never in all my time had I needed to do that. A lot of use they where though (sarcasm) *link to are the police fit for purpose?*
What I hate are the liars, The ones that tell half a story to ingratiate themselves with their “groupies” or “hangers on”.
This is the Story of Yemi Tatham, “Wag” Tatham and Denise (Dee) Tatham, not just mine but the story how they lie cheat and try to steal from people and no one wants to do anything about it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This starts with a Samsung Tablet issue, a charging one (which seems to be the way these tablets go).
Yemi Tatham – came in four times during August 2021 telling us she had a charging issue with her Samsung Tablet, she was sold one of our lifetime guarantee cables, the first returned damaged which we replaced as part of the “lifetime Warranty promise” after the third time she came in (over the course of four weeks) i asked her to bring the Tablet in as our cables do not fail to charge that many times. (we’ve sold over 100 with four actual failures), we tested the cables (Barr the damaged one, which was physically damaged) all worked perfectly. It was concluded that the battery was the issue as over time they depreciate, the battery was replaced and two weeks later Miss Tatham got back in touch with us as it was not charging again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eventually she brought it in (telling me she couldn’t do due to “work”), I followed normal procedure to get her details so we could match the tablet to herself. When asked for a phone number she gave me the number eMail she gave me her mums number \u201c015** ****** <\/a>\u201c and when asked for her eMail which we take of all customers in these cases, she replied \u201cno, I am no good with computers\u201d I don’t have one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Miss Tatham then suggested her mothers eMail and I asked if she knew it, which she didn’t, When i looked at the screen of the Samsung I saw the sign in eMail I asked if that was her mums and if we could use that, she said she “wouldn’t” mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A week later at the beginning of October I issued an estimate to Miss Tatham (to her mums eMail), to which we received the reply. another thing to note is the lack of concern that we have Mrs Tathams eMail address (important for later on)…
Now, in the store at this point in time, I have one tech, who moved from being local to living in Lancaster. I took on a tech so that I stopped making costly errors on peoples phones, errors that our terms say the store has to pay to repair or replace if we are responsible for causing.
Due to our tech living in Lancaster and going from having a car to drive, to having to take the train to get to us, we arranged that all phones be done on a Friday. Not only did he do phones and tablets he did our soldering. All our customers are made aware of this point. It may also be prudent to add here that our staff also have contracted secondary pay rises each year linked to the stores quality output. This assures that they do, and are awarded for good work, the bench mark for this is a 95% level of no returns.
The Samsung’s where repaired and tested following procedure in which the Tech fixing gets a quality check, this involves, touch screen test, button tests and of course the charging test to make sure the battery and the port worked which they did.
Having had a soldering job fail due to the cold weather (and the fact we have no heaters or radiators in the store) i put a hold on all jobs. All customers who came in, were told of this as was Miss Tatham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you listen all the way to the end of the second recording, (if you can stomach the childish bullying behaviour) You can hear her step mother (how these people have been allowed to foster I don’t know) verbally attack me, just so we are clear she launched herself almost over the desk in the store towards me. I’m just glad the police were already there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
